Rabbit Island Jay and Silent
Hi Kristy. Today you're with a Serbian, planting things in the garden. Last night I was at Leonie's house. There was a party, and everyone* was there. There was music playing in the backyard, real music, from your computer, and from a guitar and a woman's voice and an amplifier. There was two parts of the band Astral Travel. The girlwoman singing has the same name as me, but she has a very very beautiful and very very big voice and she has made perfect songs and they remind me of everything good about music and especially sonic youth for some reason, although there's only a few songs of theirs I know properly in my heart, and her boyfriend was drumming right behind all the beats with a little ponytail, and they played a song which I knew was a cover but I didn't know what it was and then Sharky was walking towards me on the driveway and said some sort of thing like "Did you know The Boss wrote that song?" and I didn't know but then it all made sense and he continued "For Patti Smith?". And then beautiful Kenta played, and I had been looking at his arms earlier in the night, very beautiful, and he and Matt and Will made fast music which was all played just right and very loud so Kiirti had to take Diipeche up further on the driveway and I was wearing a children's suit either from the television show Dinotopia or Power Rangers depending on who was talking to me, and then we watched an amazing slideshow and Mark and Kenta were sitting either side of me, and Emlyn was standing behind me or sitting on my lap and all the photos were taken by Leonie's ratpack father, or of him, and every photo was like a beautiful dream and I really honestly couldn't tell if it was a dream or not, and even now I'm not quite sure if it was or not, and who would have guessed that Perth once had a theme park called Atlantis? And tall bronzed women in golden bikini suits and scalloped Roman skirts, and riding on chariots pulled by donkeys, and giant seals which seemed too large to be real and someone had a story about the golden women riding on the dolphins in the water, one foot each on two dolphins and holding reins no doubt, and lubed up and wet for the water and riding and riding through the eighties into a new day dawning where the Opera House is fully constructed, and Greece doesn't look the same, and no men's socks are pulled up high like all those men we saw in all those slides and no-one's ever quite as bronzed as all that. |
